4 Festive Cocktails to Make These Holidays

If you’re getting in the festive spirit, what better way to do it than with a festive cocktail (or two)?

Customizing your drinks for the festive season is a great way to celebrate, and get yourself and your guests in the holiday mood. Whether you’re choosing a warm cocktail to keep you comfortable on wintry days, a sweet drink that’s a delectable treat, or a drink with a complex kick of spice, we’ve got something for everyone.

1. When you want a festive pick me
up

If you’re a coffee lover who loves pairing up the things you love then this Warm and Fuzzy recipe is perfect for you.

Whip this cocktail up by stirring Baileys and Frangelico to your freshly brewed coffee, and top it off with whipped cream. This drink is all about staying cozy on cold winter days. It gives you a little energy kick thanks to the coffee in this recipe, while the sweet, nutty flavors will have you reaching for your Baileys over and over again this season.

For one serving, you need:

8 ounces of freshly brewed hot coffee

1 ounce of Baileys Irish Cream

1 ounce of Frangelico or any other nut-flavored liqueur

Whipped cream and grated nutmeg for garnish

2. When you have a sweet tooth

If you can never say no to dessert, then you’ll never say no to this cocktail! This Tiramisu White Russians recipe is a treat on every level. It looks as delicious as it tastes.

To whip up this drink, you need to shake cream and sugar together in a jar until they hold a soft peak. Then, add your Kahlua and rum to your ice-filled glasses. Finish it off with a layer of whipped cream, a dusting of cocoa powder, and top with your cookie. This is the ultimate festive treat that’s perfect for after-dinner drinks.

For 2 cocktails, you need:

4 ounces of cold heavy cream

2 teaspoons of granulated sugar

Ice

4 ounces of Kahlua

4 ounces of dark rum

1 Ladyfinger cookie to garnish

Cocoa powder to garnish

Take a look at the full method, here.

3. When you want a cocktail with a spice
kick

A coquito is an aromatic, creamy rum punch that is enjoyed in Puerto Rico during the holiday season. It’s warm, and easy to customize with flavors of your own like pistachios, almonds, or even chocolate.

To make this drink, you need to whisk evaporated milk, cream of coconut, condensed milk, and coconut milk together. Add the cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, and ginger to your boiled water and let the mixture sit. Combine the spice mixture with your milk mixture before whisking in vanilla and rum later on. Then serve it over ice or chilled to get the party started!

You need:

12 ounces of evaporated milk

15 ounces of cream of coconut

14 ounces of sweetened condensed milk

13.5 ounces of unsweetened coconut milk

3 cups of water

4 ounces of cinnamon sticks

1 ounce of whole cloves

2 whole star anise

2 teaspoons of ginger

2 tablespoons of vanilla extract

25 fluid ounces of white rum

4. When you’re hosting a holiday party

If you’re making something for a holiday party, then you may be after a crowd-pleaser you can whip up in bulk. Then you can’t go wrong with a Christmas punch!

This recipe is super easy to make. It’s also packed with fruit, which makes it look as festive as it tastes. If you’re making this punch ahead of time, just mix everything except for the soda and ice together so your cocktail doesn’t fall flat or get watery before your guests can enjoy it. If you’re not a fan of rum, vodka works just as well in this recipe.

For 8 cups, you need:

1 orange

1 cup of cranberries

1/2 cup of pomegranate seeds

2 cups of cranberry juice

2 cups of orange juice

1 cup of pomegranate juice

2 cups of Sprite or Sierra Mist

1 cup of white rum

Ice

Rosemary for garnish
