4 Hairstyles for a Cocktail Party

Do you have an important event coming up on your calendar that you need your hair to look fab for? We know that your hair is your crowning glory and a good hair day can change your mood instantly so don’t worry about being stumped for styles, we have you covered with these 4 hairstyles to try on for size when you head to your next cocktail party!

High Pony

Go for this easy up do if you are a no fuss kinda gal. You can straighten your hair if you want this to look sleek or curl it once fastened for a fun vibe. You will need to brush your hair through and ensure you have a strong elastic. The easiest way to achieve this look is to throw your head over and brush your hair down towards your feet. Gather your hair in your hand at your preferred position of your head (the closer to the middle of your head, the higher and more dramatic this will look). Once you have positioned your hair, secure it with your elastic and grab a small section of your hair. Wrap this small section of your hair around your elastic and fix with a bobby pin under your ponytail, this will hide your elastic and add a classy touch to your hairstyle. If you have fly aways, you can spray some hairspray on an old toothbrush to smooth them down.

Plait Crown

If you love soft curls and bohemian vibes then this hairstyle may be right up your alley. Take 2 small sections on either side of your head around the front of your ears separate these. Curl the rest of your hair with a medium width curling iron, hairspray and leave your curls to cool. Plait these 2 sections, pull at the plait gently to give it texture and make it look bigger. Loop them around the back of your head. You can overlap these or twist the plaits around each other as you please. Fasten your plaits with bobby pins and run your fingers through your curls.

Side Braid

Look like a Grecian goddess with a side braid. This hairstyle looks the best with some texture spray so spritz some of this into your hair and brush through. Start your braid on the opposite side that you want it to lay. Grab a small section of hair behind or near to your ear and split into 3 smaller sections. Now begin braiding this but with every layer, scoop a small amount of your free hair into the small sections until you have no free hair left. Continue braiding to your preference of length and fasten. You can pull at the braid to give more volume and texture to it.

Curls

For a romantic vibe, you can’t go past gorgeous curls. Choose your preferred barrel thickness, if you want small, tight curls then go for a thin barrel and a larger barrel for loose curls. Brush your hair out and begin sectioning depending on how thick your hair is. Ensure all your hair is making contact with the iron and begin curling the front sections of your hair away from your face. Once you have gone past your ears, start curling towards the front of your face. Spritz your hair with hairspray and leave to cool before running your fingers through your hair. You can add cute hair accessories to this look depending on your vibe such as velvet headbands, colorful pins or flower clips.
