We’ve officially entered springtime and it’s time to start looking at fresh ways to style our denim for the season. If there’s one thing we know, it’s that denim is timeless. But it’s also highly versatile, making it a must-have for everyday styling. Having been a fashion go-to for decades, denim comes in all shapes and forms, from classic jeans and cropped cuts, to denim skirts and distressed finishes.
Whether you’re going for a casual or polished finish, you’ll want to start by choosing your denim base and building your look around that. Here are some of the ways we’d begin building our springtime denim looks:
Distressed Denim
Distressed denim is a popular style of jeans that have been intentionally damaged or worn out to create a rugged, edgy look. The process of distressing denim involves using various techniques like sanding, ripping, fraying, and bleaching to give the jeans a worn-in, vintage feel. This type of denim is a popular choice among fashion enthusiasts who want to add some edge to their wardrobe!
If you want a more refined finish, keep it simple. Distressed denim is already statement as it is, so the rest of your look should balance it out. Try a casual white tee and sneakers, with a leather jacket to finish. And if you’re looking to dress it up for a Saturday night out, distressed jeans look dashing with a lace-trimmed cami and pointed toe pumps.

The Denim Midi Skirt
You’ve heard of the denim mini skirt, but have you tried the denim midi skirt? This silhouette is seriously on-trend right now. They are versatile and can be dressed up or down, making them the perfect addition to any wardrobe. They are also comfortable and can be worn in any season, making them a year-round option.
Try dressing it up with a beautiful blouse for an upstyled finish. Choose a blouse with a statement sleeve or neckline to add some interest to the outfit. Alternatively, you can layer with a sweater and shirt, finishing with loafers for a cool, classy look.

Butter Denim
Butter denim is a type of denim fabric that is made from a blend of cotton, polyester, and elastane. This blend gives the fabric a soft, stretchy, and comfortable feel. The term “butter” refers to the way the fabric feels against the skin, which is smooth and soft… just like butter!
One of the key benefits of butter denim is its supreme comfort. The stretchy nature of the fabric allows for ease of movement, making it a popular choice for everyday wear. The fabric is also designed to fit the body like a glove, providing a flattering silhouette that accentuates your curves and fits your body shape perfectly.
Butter jeans are a great base for your office look, styling effortlessly with a shirt, blazer and pumps. It’s also easy for off-duty wear with a simple sweater and slip-on shoes.

Double Denim
Double denim is a trend that involves wearing two or more denim items in one outfit. While it used to be considered a fashion faux pas, it has become increasingly popular in recent years and can look ultra trendy when styled correctly. Together, denim can look coordinated and cohesive, making a fashion statement at the same time.
We love the look of a pair of jeans and denim jacket. Simply effortless, you can either match denims of the same shade or shake things up with different washes such as light wash jeans and a dark denim jacket. If you want to keep things intriguing, mix up textures such as distressing, acid wash and chambray.

The Cropped Jean
Cropped jeans are a type of denim that are cut to be shorter than regular jeans, typically ending above the ankle and mid-shin. They come in a variety of styles, such as skinny, straight leg, and wide leg, and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. They’re the perfect springtime companion with that little extra show of skin in anticipation of the warmer months!
Experiment with cropped jeans and statement shoes, as the cropped cut will draw more attention to your footwear. Perhaps a pair of strappy stilettos or a block heel will do the trick. You can also dress them down for laidback daywear, teaming them with your favourite sneakers and a graphic tee.
